I joined Delhi University in 2009 and commuting from Gurgaon was not an easy task! After a 3 hour commute one way, I was in no position to get in the academic mode.
During my second semester, finally the metro was completed from Gurgaon to Delhi University, cutting my commute to an incredible hour. During this hour I could study and revise and prepare for my lectures in advance, most importantly arrive fresh and energized for my studies.
Not only this, I could also go see friends post my lecture, as oppose to being tired and just rushing back home. I finally had a life beyond books and bus rides. Slowly I realized that I spent a major portion on my day in the Delhi Metro!
But recently I have realized how my metro rides have gone far beyond comfort and have actually become a sorce of entertainment and adventures.
Going around Delhi has always been adventurous for me. So the metro rides are just an extension to it.
One must have heard of how different crowds reside in this Dilwalon ki Dilli, giving it the spice that I believe other cities/ states/ province lack. Delhi Metro is just a preview of all this. As I ride in comfort, I get to experience all these segments, interact with people from various sectors, and have a new story to share with my friends.
This is where the idea emmerged to start my Delhi Metro blog and share with everyone the amazing adventures I go through every single day. Some of them are to be laughed at, while at some I feel very concerned. Some just make me smile, even when I think back about them, while others make me just want to question, "What is wrong with India?"
Keep reading to find some hillarious, some shocking, and some just simple stories!
